GOLF – My Passion
For people who have never tried this great sport, golf may well be a ‘good walk spoiled’, as a famous writer once said.
But nearly everyone who has ever tried it is bowled over. There is no more rewarding feeling than hitting the ball and watching how it flies as straight as
an arrow along the fairway.
‘Think hard whether you want to start golf, because you will never want to stop’ This is the reason why I’ve been a golf professional since 1982 and my
fascination with the sport is as great now as it was at the start.
My path led me through various training levels to become a Class A PGA Golf Teaching Professional with stops along the way in Australia, Florida, Tunisia,
As well as that, I was a playing professional for many years on the South American Tour, Asian Tour, European Challenge Tour, Space Coast Golf Tour North,
Florida PGA Winter Tour and Texas Tour.
I’ve worked now for nearly 20 years at the Gut Rieden Golf Club at Lake Starnberg in Bavaria and on this beautiful course I live and breathe golf, my job
and my hobby.
GOLF– My Job and My Hobby
As well as my work as a playing and teaching professional, I’ve written a series of articles‚ ‘Golf School’, for the men’s magazine GQ, filmed my
own TV programme, Golf Destination, for Eurosport, and currently I write monthly travel reports for the magazine Golf aktuell. I still
play successfully on the German PGA Tour and in 2013 I won the coveted title ‘German Champion’ at the German PGA Teachers Championship. I am also brand
ambassador for Maserati, Titleist and Maurice Lacroix and count myself lucky to be sponsored financially by companies such as Schweiger Flachbau München, Faktor10 and
prosoft (see sponsorship).
Through my regular participation in golf charity events, I’ve been able to support many charities in raising money for people in need.
